Building Our Community Resilience Hub

Progress Report with Support from Eastern and Central Community Trust

With generous funding of $10,000 from Eastern and Central Community Trust, our community’s vision for a Resilience Hub is steadily becoming a reality. This funding has empowered us to make significant strides in preparing for emergencies and strengthening our support network.

One of our first priorities was to purchase essential Emergency Equipment. This ensures that we are ready to respond effectively when disaster strikes, providing safety and peace of mind for our members. To further enhance our ability to serve, we acquired enough crockery and cutlery to cater for up to 200 people, enabling us to provide meals and refreshments during crises or community gatherings.

Recognising the importance of reliable power during emergencies, we allocated funds for fuel to run our generators. This means we can keep the Hub operational even when the main power supply is disrupted. We also invested in a sturdy BBQ, which will be invaluable for preparing hot meals, fostering a sense of community, and offering comfort during challenging times.

Long-lasting food, water, and groceries are now safely stored at the Hub, ensuring we are equipped to support our community for extended periods if necessary. To keep these supplies organised and accessible, shelving materials were purchased and installed, transforming our storage space into an efficient and practical area.

Thanks to the support from Eastern and Central Community Trust, our Community Resilience Hub is progressing rapidly. We are more prepared than ever to face emergencies and provide essential services, creating a safer and stronger community together.
